Hey lawyer,
Last week, Ambar won the Financial Times award for Most Innovative Business Model.
Very proud.
Picture below:

Also useful to remember that Monday still arrived.
The gala was in London, at the Natural History Museum.
Dinosaurs.
Clients.
Friends.
And a large number of lawyers behaving beautifully under a T-Rex skeleton.
We stayed nearby in South Kensington.
Then I discovered something excellent.
South Kensington was not originally South Kensington.
It was originally called Brompton.
In the nineteenth century, museums and colleges were being built there.
But apparently Brompton did not sound grand enough for the new cultural district.
So Henry Cole, the man behind the Victoria & Albert Museum, helped give it a more aristocratic name:
South Kensington.
Same land.
Better frame.
But here is the clever part.
They did not only change the name.
They also built museums. Rail connections. Architecture. Parks. Institutions.
The experience eventually deserved the label.
Legal departments often try the first half.
“Strategic partner”.
“Business enabler”.
“Growth function”.
Lovely.
But if the business experience is still:
Send contract. Wait. Receive 27 comments. Book meeting to discuss comments.
Then the new title is just Brompton in a nicer font.
At Ambar, senior project counsel can sit between the in house team and traditional firms on major acquisitions, disputes, energy and infrastructure projects.
They run the facts, contracts, workstreams, local advisers, deadlines and reduce the budget.
The firms focus on the issues that genuinely deserve specialist partner judgment.
The in house team stays with the CEO and business sponsor, where the important decisions are being made.
That is not a rebrand.
It is a different experience of Legal.
South Kensington did not become South Kensington because someone changed the sign.
The name worked because the place delivered the promise.
Before you go: how Ambar can help
We help GCs access senior independent legal talent when their teams need more range, more speed or more specialist judgment.
1) Fractional counsel for capacity gaps
When a key lawyer moves role, goes on leave, or gets pulled into a strategic project, we help cover the gap without adding permanent structure.
2) Specialist expertise for new areas
Privacy, AI, technology contracts, payments, cybersecurity, energy, regulatory or new jurisdictions — senior lawyers who bring knowledge into the team, not just hours.
3) The layer between in-house and traditional firms
For work that is too senior for junior execution, too close to the business for a law firm machine, and too temporary for a permanent hire.
4) Legal AI that learns your standard
We help legal teams turn senior judgment into playbooks, model answers, red flags, evals and error-analysis frameworks for the AI tools their teams already use.
Not generic AI. Your legal standard.
